WitzEnd Productions’ Daddy Long Legs is about to make internet history.
On Thursday, the Off-Broadway musical is partnering with video streaming platform Livestream to give audiences worldwide the opportunity to view a full performance for free at 8 p.m. EST. Viewers can register to watch the performance on the show’s website.
The Livestream gives theater fans across the globe the opportunity to see the show, even if they can’t make it to New York City. “I’m delighted that Daddy Long Legs will be the first ever musical to be live-streamed from New York,” director and book-writer John Caird said in a statement. “Ever since my first shows in New York — Nicholas Nickleby andLes Miserables — I have been ambitious to share my work with as many people as possible, but especially those for whom the journey to see the live show is just too far or too expensive.”
