Laura Dean Koch, Producer

Laura has been working in theater since she was a child, earning her Equity card at age seven playing Gretel in “The Sound Of Music” starring Barbara Eden.  From age ten to fifteen Laura sang with the New York City Opera and debuted as a soloist at age twelve playing Flora in “The Turn of the Screw.”

While attending the High School of Performing Arts she won the role of Lisa Monroe in Alan Parker’s iconic film “Fame.”  Laura went on to earn a Theater World Award and a Drama Desk nomination for her Broadway debut as Boopsie in Garry Trudeau’s “Doonesbury” and starred as Mrs. Walker in “The Who’s Tommy” directed by Des McAnuff.

Laura’s work in television includes the recurring role of Sophie on NBC’s “Friends” and co-hosting Comedy Central’s “Short Attention Span Theater” with Jon Stewart.

Laura is thrilled to be part of WitzEnd Productions.  Her love of live theater and her many years of experience in the early creative process of developing new musicals has lead her to begin an exciting new phase of her career as a producer, beginning with “Estella Scrooge” by John Caird and Paul Gordon.
